Masonic Scholarships in North Carolina

The North Carolina Masonic Foundation (NCMF) supports educational opportunity through a growing number of Masonic lodge-sponsored scholarships available to students across North Carolina.

Rooted in the core principles of Freemasonry, these scholarships reflect the fraternity’s long-standing commitment to education, personal growth, leadership, and service. Freemasons are taught to seek “light” throughout their lives, and supporting students in their pursuit of knowledge is one of the most meaningful ways that commitment is lived out.

Lodge-Sponsored Scholarships

Masonic Lodges, districts, and donors throughout North Carolina have established scholarships to assist students pursuing higher education, technical training, or other accredited post-secondary programs. Each scholarship listed on this page is administered in partnership with the North Carolina Masonic Foundation and may honor a Mason, Past Grand Master, or charitable legacy.

Scholarship details vary by lodge, including:

  • Eligibility requirements
  • Award amounts
  • Application materials
  • Selection criteria and deadlines

Applicants are encouraged to review each scholarship listing carefully before applying.

Application Considerations

All scholarship applications must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline listed for each individual scholarship. Required materials may include transcripts, essays, letters of recommendation, or proof of enrollment, depending on the sponsoring lodge.

Applicants who were unable to take the SAT, ACT, or other collegiate entry-level exams due to COVID-19 or other extenuating circumstances should note this within their application. Candidates will not be penalized for this omission.

Active Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships currently accepting applications will indicate their open application period, submission instructions, and deadlines within their individual listings. Availability and timelines vary by scholarship and sponsoring lodge.
